Meet Our Coaches
Hi Stingrays! I’m Coach Kathryn, and I am back as your head coach for the 2026 summer. This will be my last summer as your head swim coach, and I'm hoping to make this one of the best! I returned to coaching in 2023 after a few years away and I am excited to work with both our familiar and new swim team faces. I previously coached the Stonebridge Swim Team starting in the summer of 2010 up until the summer of 2019. Before that, I coached at my parent’s neighborhood, Summerfield North, for many years, starting at the age of 15 as a 6 and under coach. In addition to coaching summer swim team, I have previously coached year-round swimming with WAVE and have helped coach high school swimming, soccer, and rowing. I was also a school teacher for 13 years, but left education to start my own personal training business here in Stonebridge! I am not only your swim team coach, but also the swim team coordinator and your neighbor! My children, Spencer and Holden, participate on the swim team so it truly is a family affair. I believe that summer swim team should create a love of swimming and bring neighbors together. I aim for our swimmers to have a strong foundation in all areas of their swimming. I believe that good technique builds speed. I am looking forward to this summer and having you be a part of our team!
- Swam for Stonebridge for 12 years and coached for 6 years
- Coached for Northwestern 24-25, helping to qualify 13 swimmers for the NCAAs
- Coached for UVA 23-24, assisting UVA to their fourth consecutive NCAA title
- National Team coach for Wilton Wahoo Club, 20-23. Coached Wahoo record holders, Connecticut state record holders, YMCA & junior national qualifiers.
- Before coaching, Bonk was a 2012 and 2016 Olympic Trials Qualifier. He graduated from NC State in 2017 and swam for the Wolfpack from 2014-2017. Bonk was a 3x ACC Champion, NCAA runner-up, and 3x All-American.
